DROP-IN DAY

Scheduled at Generic Adult School on January 20 As part of a state-wide effort by California Adult Schools to reach adults without a high school diploma, Generic Adult School in Gotham City will participate in the 20th annual Drop-In Day For Dropouts, Thursday, January 20, from______a.m. until______ p.m.

Throughout that day private, individualized high school diploma counseling will be provided on a walk-in, no appointment basis. Drop-In Day participants will receive specific recommendations as to how they can best proceed to earn a diploma. Many persons without a diploma are not aware that job experience, previous high school work and certain other activities can count for diploma credit.

"The best solution to the dropout problem is to keep our children in school. However, the many excellent programs with that as their goal don't take into account the tens of thousands of adults who never graduated and for whom there is no staying in school or even returning to their old high school,"said (name), principal at Generic. While a major goal at Generic Adult School is providing second opportunities for adults who were unable to complete the traditional kindergarten through 12th grade schooling, that's just part of the story. The school also offers educational programs for handicapped adults, senior citizens, parents, and adults newly arrived from foreign lands. Vocational and job training is another important element of the curriculum at Generic Adult. The school also offers a variety of community education courses at nominal fees.
